This stalky perennial is super easy to grow, adaptable to many light and soil conditions and is common to many woodland prairies, forest, and floodplain sites. It has white tubular flowers that appear in the early spring and summer, as well as early fall. says it's deer resistant, but like with all "deer resistant" plants, I am skeptical and local nurseries may have a different opinion. But it's a good border plant and great when paired with other perennials like baptisa, rudbeckia, and oak leaf hydrangea.
