Boxwood is an extremely hardy all purpose evergreen shrub that can basically pruned to be any shape or form you would like it to be (also used as topiary). This is a great plant for planters, along a fence or perimeter, and defines space well. It grows to anywhere between 3-6 feet, and stays green all season long. I have had this in a planter outside of my house in Brooklyn for the past 3 years, with snow piled on top of it, and it is looking unscathed. It's weird, actually. The Korean Boxwood is my preferred choice...slightly shaggier and more dense in appearance.
Conditions: Part sun to Full Sun
Size: 3'-6' (depending on pruning)
