Acontium/Monkshood

12.95

How do perennials get their common names--i mean how do you get from Acontium to Wolf's Bane? I have also heard Monkshood and even Women's bane used for this plant. Anyway--who cares.  This as a very gorgeous background perennial that has blue flowers in autumn, which is unusual. Takes full sun or light shade, needs a moist soil though. I should add that this is a poisonous plant, so if you have kids, dogs, or husbands who eat plants, you might want to rethink, unless you are trying to get rid of your husband, of course. Deer dislike it strongly.

Conditions: Full sun to part shade
Water: needs moist soil
size: 18"-24"
